3 January, 2025; Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed confidence in the administration’s preparedness for snow-clearing operations in the region following recent snowfall. Speaking to the media, the CM assured that lessons from past experiences had bolstered the government’s response capabilities.
“We will deal with the situation. We are well prepared after our experience last time,” said Omar Abdullah. Highlighting the steps taken to address challenges posed by harsh winters, he added, “We are doing all that we can. The power supply is better this time as compared to last year.” His remarks come amid ongoing efforts to ensure uninterrupted electricity and clear snow-covered roads in the region, particularly in remote and high-altitude areas.
The Chief Minister also addressed remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Omar Abdullah acknowledged that while progress had been made, challenges remained. “Even today we receive reports of attacks from various places. Complete normalcy has not been restored in J&K till now. It is a process, let’s see what happens in the future,” he stated.
His comments reflect the complexities of restoring peace and stability in the region, which has long faced challenges due to insurgency and political tensions. The government continues to prioritize infrastructure development and public safety to build trust and improve conditions on the ground.
The administration’s focus on both snow clearance and security demonstrates its commitment to addressing the immediate and long-term needs of the region, even as the path to normalcy remains an evolving process.
