Delhi CM Atishi Criticizes BJP for Lack of Vision and Agenda Ahead of Elections

3 January, 2025; Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what she calls a lack of vision and agenda ahead of the upcoming elections. In a recent statement, Atishi highlighted that the BJP has been in power at the Centre for over 10 years, with access to vast financial resources, yet has failed to deliver any tangible benefits for the people of Delhi.

“Atishi pointed out that despite having a budget running into lakhs of crores, the BJP has failed to come forward with any concrete achievements for the people of Delhi,” she remarked. “They have had a decade in power, but there is not a single initiative they can proudly claim to have completed for the welfare of the people of Delhi. This is a clear indication that they lack a solid agenda for the city.”

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader further questioned the BJP’s preparedness for the upcoming elections, noting that the party has not even named a Chief Ministerial (CM) candidate for Delhi, underscoring the lack of leadership vision. “BJP has no CM face for Delhi, and this shows their disarray. They are only focused on making political noise, without any clear direction for the future of Delhi,” she said.

Atishi took pride in the achievements of the AAP government in Delhi over the past 10 years, stating that her party has consistently worked for the betterment of the people of Delhi. “The AAP government has focused on education, healthcare, infrastructure, and clean energy. We have delivered on the promises made to the people of Delhi, unlike the BJP, which is only interested in rhetoric and empty promises,” she added.

The remarks come as Delhi prepares for elections that are expected to be closely contested, with the BJP and AAP both vying for support. As political parties gear up for the upcoming electoral battle, Atishi’s comments highlight the growing divide between the two parties, with each claiming to have the people’s best interests at heart.

The Delhi elections are shaping up to be an intense contest, with both parties focusing on their respective visions for the future of the national capital. While Atishi and AAP claim to have worked tirelessly for Delhi, the BJP is likely to counter these criticisms by highlighting its national achievements and pushing for more attention to Delhi’s role in the broader national discourse.
