Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, while addressing the media, expressed the collective excitement of the city, saying, “The 14-year exile in the sports field is finally over. Gwalior now boasts an international-level sports stadium, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”
The stadium, named after his father, Madhavrao Scindia, has been developed at a cost of ₹200 crore and is equipped with world-class facilities. With a seating capacity of 30,000, it is poised to become a premier venue for hosting major cricket events, bringing a new chapter to Gwalior’s sporting legacy.
Scindia emphasized the significance of the occasion, highlighting the enthusiasm surrounding the inaugural match. “Both the teams have reached the ground, and I am sure that an exciting game is in store for us. Gwalior’s residents have long awaited this moment, and their excitement is palpable,” he stated.
