Mehsana, Gujarat – A tragic incident occurred today at a private construction site in Mehsana, where several workers were trapped following a collapse. The incident took place around 1:45 p.m., leaving authorities and rescue teams racing against time to save lives.
Speaking about the incident, the District Development Officer (DDO) of Mehsana, Dr. Hasrat Jasmine, provided a detailed account. “This is a private company that was under construction. The incident happened at around 1:45 pm. As per our information, 9 to 10 people were trapped,” she stated.
Rescue teams have been working tirelessly at the site. So far, six bodies have been recovered, tragically confirming the loss of lives. However, there was a glimmer of hope when a 19-year-old boy was rescued alive from the debris. “As per his statement, 8 to 9 people were working at the site,” Dr. Jasmine added.
Efforts continue to locate the remaining workers, with an estimated 2 to 3 individuals still trapped under the rubble. Dr. Jasmine expressed hope and concern, stating, “We pray to God that we rescue them alive.”
The exact cause of the collapse remains unclear, and an investigation is expected to follow. Authorities have already mobilized emergency response teams, and local officials are coordinating with disaster management personnel to continue rescue operations.
