Himachal Pradesh Government to Pay Pending Salaries and Introduce New Buses for HRTC

In a significant announcement, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu addressed the issues surrounding the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) during a recent press conference in Shimla. Criticizing the previous Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, Sukhu highlighted the lack of action on critical matters affecting the HRTC employees, particularly regarding pending salaries for night shifts and overtime work.

Sukhu stated, “The previous BJP government did not do any work; HRTC’s night and overtime were pending.” This statement reflects the current government’s commitment to rectifying the shortcomings of its predecessor and prioritizing the welfare of state transport employees.

In a promising development for HRTC staff, the Chief Minister announced that salaries for all employees will be disbursed by October 28. This timely intervention aims to alleviate the financial distress faced by employees who have been awaiting their payments.

Furthermore, the government has pledged to enhance the fleet of the HRTC significantly. CM Sukhu revealed plans to introduce 1,500 new buses to the corporation. This initiative is expected to improve public transportation services in the state, ensuring that residents have better access to reliable and efficient transport options.

Sukhu’s announcements mark a crucial step towards rebuilding the trust and morale of HRTC employees and enhancing the overall transportation infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh. As the state moves forward, the government’s focus on accountability and development appears to be paving the way for positive change.
