17 October, 2024;In a significant incident today, the 2520 Agartala–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express, which departed from Agartala this morning, derailed at Dibalong station under the Lumding division. The derailment occurred at approximately 15:55 hours in the Lumding–Badarpur Hill section.
According to official reports, eight coaches, including the engine and power car, were affected by the derailment. Despite the severity of the accident, no casualties or major injuries have been reported, providing some relief amidst the disruption.
Emergency response teams have been quick to act. An Accident Relief Train and an Accident Relief Medical Train have already been dispatched from Lumding to the site. Senior officials from the Lumding division are en route to oversee the ongoing rescue and restoration efforts, ensuring swift action.
