30 October, 2024;Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, witnessed a grand celebration of Deepotsav, an annual festival that commemorates the return of Lord Ram to his kingdom after years of exile. This year, the festival held special significance, marking the first Deepotsav since the consecration of the Ram Temple at the site where many believe Lord Ram was born.
Speaking on the occasion, Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya highlighted the significance of the event, remarking, “It was a battle of 500 years. Due to the strong will of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, Lord Ram is seated at his birthplace, and this is the first Deepotsav. It is historic, and I extend my heartfelt wishes to all Ram devotees on Deepotsav.” His words resonated with the sentiments of the millions who had long awaited this moment, underscoring the profound historical and spiritual importance of the event for Ram devotees across India and the world.
Deputy CM Maurya also addressed remarks to Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, suggesting that Yadav, along with his family and party members, should join in the Deepotsav festivities and honor Lord Ram. “The Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav should light lamps with his entire family and all the party MPs and bow down at the feet of Lord Ram. It is good; the feeling of Ram Bhakti is awakening in everyone,” Maurya added. His comment reflects the growing sentiment around Ayodhya’s Deepotsav as an inclusive and unifying celebration of devotion.
