31 October, 2024; Odisha’s celebrated sand artist, Sudarsan Pattnaik, once again captivated audiences with his intricate artwork, this time honoring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary. Pattnaik created an inspiring sand sculpture at Puri Beach, dedicated to the “Iron Man of India,” as Patel is fondly known for his role in unifying India.
Using his signature techniques, Pattnaik crafted a grand depiction of Sardar Patel’s face alongside the Indian map, highlighting Patel’s contribution to the integration of India’s princely states post-independence. The artwork, accompanied by the message “Tribute to Sardar Patel,” pays homage to Patel’s efforts in strengthening India’s unity and establishing a cohesive nation.
The sculpture drew widespread attention, with locals and tourists flocking to see the tribute.
