The lighting of these diyas—symbolic oil lamps—was a tribute to the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya and a part of the Diwali celebrations that have become one of the city’s defining annual events.

    The banks of the holy Saryu River served as the epicenter of this mesmerizing event. Thousands of devotees and pilgrims gathered to witness the breathtaking sight, as the flickering lights turned the night into a golden spectacle. The city’s temples, streets, and ghats were adorned with rows of diyas, creating an enchanting panorama of Ayodhya’s legendary heritage and spirituality.

    Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led the celebrations, presiding over the event as it unfolded along the sacred riverbank. In his address, Adityanath highlighted the significance of the celebration, calling it a “return of Ram’s legacy to the heart of Ayodhya.” He mentioned that such events strengthen the cultural and spiritual bonds of the nation while shining a spotlight on India’s rich cultural heritage. For Adityanath, this occasion was not just about breaking records but about deepening the people’s connection with Ayodhya’s storied past.

    The Diwali festivities in Ayodhya have steadily grown over the years, setting new records with each celebration. This year’s display surpassed previous achievements by lighting an unprecedented number of diyas. The Guinness World Records team, who were present on-site, validated the achievement, officially recognizing it as a record-setting event.

    Alongside the lighting of diyas, the event included cultural performances, traditional dances, and folk music. Artists and performers brought Ramayana’s tales to life, adding to the spiritual ambiance. The entire celebration culminated in a spectacular fireworks display that filled the sky with vibrant colors, a fitting end to a night steeped in reverence and jubilation.
