Union Home Minister Amit Shah Pledges to Safeguard Tribal Rights from Illegal Immigrants in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Jharkhand – In a spirited public rally held in Tamar, Jharkhand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed pressing issues impacting the state’s indigenous communities. Shah’s speech focused primarily on the impact of illegal immigration on the local population, and he pledged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would prioritize the protection of tribal lands and livelihoods if elected to power in the state.

Shah expressed concerns about the effect of illegal immigration on Jharkhand’s resources, job opportunities, and, importantly, the safety and security of its tribal communities. He underscored how, according to him, these migrants are increasingly claiming jobs intended for the indigenous people of Jharkhand, particularly the tribal population. “The illegal immigrants are taking up the jobs meant for tribals of the state,” Shah said to a responsive crowd, emphasizing the urgency of a solution to prevent further erosion of local opportunities.

Highlighting the socio-economic challenges posed by immigration, Shah did not mince words in stressing that the influx of migrants is also a safety concern for women and families. “The infiltrators are dangerous for our daughters, our resources, and our land,” he warned, striking a chord with rally attendees concerned about the state’s security and stability.

A key element of Shah’s speech was the promise of new legal measures that would aim to restrict migrants’ ability to claim ownership over tribal lands, even if such migrants are married to local tribal residents. “When we form the government, we will bring a law which will prohibit the immigrant from registering tribal land in his name, even if he marries a tribal girl,” Shah asserted, adding that such measures would ensure tribal land remained within the community.

In closing, Shah pledged that under BJP leadership, any land wrongfully acquired by immigrants would be reclaimed and restored to the state’s rightful tribal owners. “We will make the immigrant give back the acquired land,” he stated. The proposal drew cheers from the crowd, underscoring a broad public agreement with Shah’s commitment to protecting tribal rights and resources in Jharkhand.

The rally reflects a continuation of the BJP’s strong stance on immigration and resource allocation, a platform that resonates with voters in Jharkhand, where maintaining tribal identity and rights remains a high priority. With this pledge, Shah appears to be setting the tone for a BJP-driven agenda focused on the protection of tribal resources and security.
