Giridih, Jharkhand: In a pointed statement, Kalpana Soren, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate from Gandey constituency, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of neglecting the pressing public issues of Jharkhand. Addressing a gathering, she outlined the challenges faced by the state and highlighted BJP’s alleged lack of support in addressing them.
Soren emphasized critical issues like the 27% reservation for backward communities, the Sarna-Adivasi Dharam Code, and the 1932 Local Resident Policy. “We ensure these are passed by the Assembly, but BJP never stands with us in our fight,” she stated. Her remarks reflect growing tensions between JMM and BJP over policies central to Jharkhand’s identity and social justice.
Referring to the celebration of Jharkhand’s cultural heritage, Soren accused BJP’s allies of creating unnecessary hurdles. “Today, if we are felicitating Maiya in Jharkhand, BJP’s ‘PIL gang’ rushes to obstruct us,” she said, using the term to criticize frequent Public Interest Litigations (PILs) filed against initiatives by the ruling party.
Kalpana Soren reiterated JMM’s commitment to the people of Jharkhand. “Our intentions are clear. We will continue to raise the issues of Jharkhand and fight for social justice,” she affirmed. Her comments underscore JMM’s stance as a party deeply rooted in regional aspirations and its focus on empowering marginalized communities.
As Jharkhand prepares for a critical electoral season, these remarks add to the escalating political debate over the state’s development, representation, and social justice agenda.
