AAP MP Sanjay Singh Lodges Complaint Against BJP Leader Parvesh Verma; Delhi BJP President Responds Sharply

26 December, 2024; In a fresh political clash, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh has filed a complaint against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Parvesh Verma. The move has sparked a heated exchange of accusations between the two rival parties, with Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva delivering a scathing rebuttal to the AAP leader’s actions.

Sachdeva, addressing the media, targeted both Sanjay Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing them of misleading the people of Delhi. “Sanjay Singh is on bail,” he stated, alluding to Singh’s ongoing legal troubles. “He, along with Arvind Kejriwal, should apologise for betraying the mothers and sisters of Delhi in the name of ‘Mahila Samman.'”

The BJP president further alleged that deception and false claims were ingrained in the functioning of the AAP leadership. “It’s the habit of Arvind Kejriwal and his party to lie and make false allegations,” Sachdeva added, dismissing the complaint lodged by Sanjay Singh as yet another example of political theatrics.

AAP-BJP Rivalry Intensifies

The rivalry between AAP and BJP has been a defining feature of Delhi’s political landscape. Both parties frequently engage in sharp exchanges, especially over governance, public welfare schemes, and allegations of corruption. This latest incident has added to the ongoing tension as both sides vie for public support ahead of key political milestones.

BJP Criticises AAP’s ‘Mahila Samman’ Initiative

Sachdeva’s criticism centered on the AAP’s “Mahila Samman” initiative, a scheme purportedly aimed at empowering women in Delhi. The BJP has often questioned the efficacy and sincerity of such programs, accusing AAP of using them as political tools while failing to deliver tangible results.

In response, AAP is expected to continue its narrative of the BJP’s alleged mismanagement and opposition to progressive policies. Political analysts suggest that these public spats are part of broader strategies to consolidate voter bases.

The Road Ahead

As the complaint filed by Sanjay Singh gains traction, it remains to be seen how the legal and political dimensions of this confrontation unfold. With both parties sticking to their entrenched positions, the stage is set for an intense battle of narratives in Delhi’s politically charged environment.
