Student Of The Year 3 is set to transition from a film to a web series format. Karan Johar announced this shift during the Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) in Chandigarh in April. The upcoming web series will be directed by Reema Maya, known for her work on Nocturnal Burger. Johar emphasized that the series would distinctly reflect Maya’s creative vision, stating, “Reema Maya will be directing the digital version of Student of the Year in her unique style, ensuring it’s not influenced by my approach, as that would skew her originality.”
Post her successful participation in Bigg Boss 17, Ankita Lokhande has been riding high on success. It was exclusively revealed by News18 Showsha that Lokhande was recently approached to star in Johar’s Student Of The Year 3. However, the actress, best known for her role in ‘Pavitra Rishta’, declined the offer. A source close to Lokhande shared, “Yes, Ankita was approached for Student Of The Year 3. While the exact role offered is not clear, she was invited to join the SOTY franchise. Nevertheless, she has opted not to participate, and the reasons for her decision remain undisclosed.”
The original Student Of The Year movie launched in 2012, introducing Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan to the film industry. The sequel came out in 2019, starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, and Tara Sutaria.
There are multiple reports suggesting that Karan Johar might cast Shanaya Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan in Student Of The Year 3. However, there has been no official confirmation of this casting news as yet.
In other news, Ankita Lokhande was recently featured in the film, Swatantra Veer Savarkar, alongside lead actor Randeep Hooda. Released on March 22, the film explores the life and contributions of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar to the Indian independence movement. Additionally, Ankita starred in a music video titled “Laa Pila De Sharaab,” alongside her businessman husband, Vicky Jain, which was released recently.
