Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Confident of NDA’s Victory in Jharkhand Elections

Ranchi: As the election campaign in Jharkhand reached its final day, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, also serving as the BJP’s co-in-charge for the state elections, expressed strong optimism about the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) securing a decisive victory. Addressing the media, Sarma highlighted the palpable support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA’s agenda in the state.

“Today is the last day for the election campaign, and it’s evident that the mood of Jharkhand is in support of PM Modi,” Sarma stated. He emphasized the growing sentiment among the people for a change in governance, reflecting dissatisfaction with the current state administration. “The people of Jharkhand want change. The NDA will form a government with the majority,” he asserted confidently.

Sarma’s remarks come as the BJP and its allies in the NDA intensify their efforts to wrest power from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led coalition. The campaign has witnessed a high-pitched battle, with key leaders from both alliances addressing rallies and emphasizing their respective visions for the state’s development.

The BJP’s campaign has centered around themes of economic growth, job creation, and welfare initiatives, leveraging the popularity of central government schemes. Meanwhile, the opposition has criticized the NDA for issues such as inflation and alleged neglect of tribal welfare, a critical issue in Jharkhand.

Sarma’s role as co-in-charge for the state elections highlights the BJP’s strategy of bringing in influential leaders from other states to bolster its campaign. Known for his political acumen and successful track record in Assam, Sarma’s involvement is seen as a significant boost for the BJP’s prospects in Jharkhand.

As voters prepare to cast their ballots, all eyes are now on the outcome, which will determine whether the NDA’s promise of change resonates enough to secure a majority in the state assembly.
