Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Criticizes Jharkhand Government in East Singhbhum Rally

Jamshedpur, Jharkhand – Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, speaking at a rally in Jamshedpur’s East Singhbhum district, launched a scathing critique of the current Jharkhand government under CM Hemant Soren. Addressing the gathering, Sarma highlighted issues of alleged corruption, unfulfilled promises, and demographic changes as key reasons to question the state’s current leadership.

Calling the upcoming election “a decisive fight for us,” Sarma claimed that regions such as Pakur and Sahibganj had undergone significant demographic shifts, which he suggested could impact the cultural and social landscape of Jharkhand. Sarma questioned the government’s response to these changes, urging voters to consider the long-term consequences of demographic alterations on Jharkhand’s identity.

Sarma further criticized the administration for failing to meet its commitments, particularly around employment generation. “They had promised 5 lakh jobs,” he stated, pointing to this unmet promise as an example of the government’s alleged inability to deliver on its pledges to the people of Jharkhand.

One of Sarma’s most pointed remarks was aimed at alleged corruption within the ruling party. He referenced the recent discovery of ₹25 crore from the residence of Alamgir Alam, a prominent figure in Jharkhand’s government. “If ₹25 crore was recovered from my house, would Modi ji give me an election ticket again?” Sarma asked, insinuating that the current government’s tolerance for corruption has compromised its integrity. In a direct rebuke to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, he added that Soren had not only condoned Alamgir Alam but had also allowed him to stand for election again, which Sarma argued would erode public trust.

Sarma also warned the public about voting for Congress, suggesting that such a vote would adversely impact the future of Jharkhand’s younger generations. “Voting for Congress will mean destroying the life of the new generations,” he declared, urging voters to reflect on the implications of their choice on Jharkhand’s development and the aspirations of its youth.

As Jharkhand approaches elections, these remarks from an influential leader such as Himanta Biswa Sarma underline the tense political environment and heightened scrutiny facing the incumbent government.
