Atishi to Become New Delhi CM: AAP Minister Aman Arora Hails Kejriwal’s Move as a ‘New Chapter of Accountability’

Chandigarh: In a significant political development, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi’s current CM Arvind Kejriwal has decided to step aside, paving the way for Atishi to take over the role of Chief Minister. The announcement has drawn reactions from various political quarters, with AAP leaders praising the decision as a bold demonstration of accountability in governance.

Punjab Minister Aman Arora lauded the move, stating, “Arvind Kejriwal has established a new chapter of accountability today. In a democracy, the public’s mandate is supreme, and he has once again decided to go among the public.” The statement reflects Kejriwal’s decision to reaffirm his connection with voters, putting public trust ahead of personal power.

Arora criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of multiple attempts to destabilize AAP but failing to do so. “BJP tried a lot to break the Aam Aadmi Party, but they were unsuccessful,” he said, adding that if the BJP believes in their allegations against AAP, they should call for early elections.

He further challenged the BJP by saying, “If there is any truth in BJP’s allegations, they should call early elections in October and let the people decide who is honest and dishonest.” Arora emphasized that for AAP, “ethics are more important than the Chief Minister’s chair,” underscoring the party’s commitment to integrity over holding political office.

The leadership transition in Delhi, marked by Atishi’s anticipated rise, has sparked discussions about AAP’s strategy moving forward. Atishi, who has been a prominent figure in Delhi’s political landscape, is expected to continue the governance reforms championed by Kejriwal while bringing her own style of leadership to the role.

As the political atmosphere intensifies, all eyes will be on the possible early elections and how this reshuffling impacts Delhi’s political dynamics.
