10 January, 2025; In a scathing criticism of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma accused the AAP leader of harboring prejudice against Purvanchal voters while favoring immigrant communities. The remarks came after Kejriwal’s recent comments about the voting patterns of Purvanchal residents sparked controversy.
Sharma alleged that Kejriwal has consistently disrespected Purvanchali voters, a significant community that has played a crucial role in the development of Delhi. “He has always insulted Purvanchali voters who have greatly contributed to the development of Delhi. Delhi is the soul of India,” Sharma said, emphasizing the cultural and economic impact of Purvanchal residents on the capital city.
The BJP leader further accused Kejriwal of showing preferential treatment to illegal immigrants. “Arvind Kejriwal likes Rohingya and Bangladeshi immigrants because they are his dear voters. They are not BJP voters,” Sharma claimed, insinuating that Kejriwal’s policies are politically motivated and disregard the contributions of Indian citizens from Purvanchal.
Sharma also accused the AAP chief of spreading falsehoods to further his political agenda, stating, “He has been a strong opponent of Purvanchalis… He is maintaining a world record on lying.”
Kejriwal has yet to respond to Sharma’s remarks, but the war of words highlights the ongoing political tensions in Delhi, where the BJP and AAP have been locked in fierce competition. The Purvanchali community, hailing from regions like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, comprises a significant voter base in Delhi and has been at the center of political discourse in recent years.
This incident underscores the growing polarization in Delhi’s political landscape, with leaders from both sides seeking to consolidate their support among diverse voter demographics.
