31 October, 2024;This Diwali was a truly special occasion as it was celebrated alongside the courageous personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF), Army, Navy, and Air Force at Lakki Nala, located in the challenging and remote Creek Area of Kutch, Gujarat. This gathering honored the dedication, resilience, and patriotism of those who stand vigilant at the nation’s frontiers, often facing harsh and unpredictable environments.
The Creek Area of Kutch, where Lakki Nala is situated, presents a unique array of challenges for India’s defense forces. The region experiences extreme temperatures, with the days often reaching scorching highs, while the nights bring a sharp chill. In addition to the intense temperature fluctuations, the area also has various environmental obstacles, such as marshy land, vast stretches of salt flats, and a rugged landscape. This terrain makes patrolling and maneuvering a physically demanding task, yet these brave men and women stand ready and steadfast.
Celebrating Diwali here wasn’t just a festive occasion; it symbolized the solidarity and gratitude the nation feels toward its armed forces. Away from their families and loved ones, these personnel celebrated in the company of comrades and visiting dignitaries who came to pay tribute to their sacrifices. Lighting diyas and sharing sweets under the starlit sky, they kept the spirit of Diwali alive with warmth, honor, and camaraderie.
This year’s celebration at Lakki Nala was a reminder of the tremendous contributions of the BSF, Army, Navy, and Air Force, each playing a vital role in securing India’s borders. Diwali, a festival symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil, finds true expression in the commitment of these heroes who protect the nation day and night, often in areas that remain out of the public eye but are critical to national security.
Diwali with our defense forces is a heartfelt reminder of the sacrifices they make. In the distant Creek Area of Kutch, under challenging conditions, these brave hearts embody the spirit of resilience and service that the festival of Diwali celebrates.
