New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) witnessed scenes of celebration on Friday after the Supreme Court granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a corruption case related to the alleged excise policy scam. The case, which was registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), had drawn significant attention over the past months. Kejriwal’s supporters, including senior AAP leaders, hailed the bail as a victory for justice.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were at the forefront of the celebrations. Both leaders shared sweets outside the Supreme Court premises, a symbolic gesture of joy and relief. The two prominent AAP figures expressed solidarity with Kejriwal, stressing their faith in the judicial process.

Speaking to the media, Bhagwant Mann said, “We have always believed that the truth will prevail. Today’s court ruling is a big relief for the entire party and the people of Delhi. We will continue our fight against false allegations.”

Manish Sisodia, who has also faced legal scrutiny in connection with the same case, echoed similar sentiments. He stated, “This is not just a victory for Arvind Kejriwal, but for the people who believe in transparent governance. We will stand firm in the face of adversity.”

The CBI had earlier alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of Delhi’s excise policy. The AAP government, however, maintained that the policy was transparent and aimed at improving revenue collection while reducing corruption in the liquor trade. Kejriwal and other AAP leaders have consistently denied the charges, calling them politically motivated.

The bail granted to the Delhi Chief Minister is seen as a significant boost for AAP, which has been battling multiple legal and political challenges in recent months. Party workers celebrated across various parts of Delhi, raising slogans and waving flags to show their support.

While Kejriwal’s legal battles are far from over, Friday’s ruling has provided much-needed respite for the AAP leadership. The party remains confident in its ability to prove its innocence as the case progresses through the courts.
