June 22: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav conducted a review meeting for the Bhopal and Indore metro projects at his residence office, Samatva Bhavan. The meeting was attended by Cabinet Minister Mr. Kailash Vijayvargiya and State Minister Mrs. Pratima Bagri, who were actively involved in the discussions.
Project Overview and Timeline
During the meeting, it was reported that work on the metro line from Subhash Nagar to Karond in Bhopal will commence soon. The entire project is expected to be completed by the year 2027. By 2031, it is projected that 450,000 passengers will use the metro daily.
Progress and Implementation
The Indore metro project has achieved 40% completion, demonstrating significant progress. In Bhopal, a total of 27 metro trains will be operated, while Indore will have 25 trains running across the city. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance urban mobility and provide efficient public transportation options.
Passenger Facilities and Inclusivity
The metro stations will be equipped with numerous facilities to ensure a comfortable and convenient travel experience for all passengers. Special attention will be given to the needs of women and differently-abled individuals, ensuring accessibility and safety for these groups.
