Speaking at a press conference, Kejriwal shared, “Today we have brought good news for the elderly of Delhi. 80,000 old age pensions are being opened. Now a total of 5.3 lakh elderly people will get pensions. It has been passed by the cabinet and the Delhi government has implemented it.” He further noted the enthusiastic response to the initiative, with 10,000 applications already submitted within the last 24 hours.

The AAP government’s focus on expanding the welfare net underscores its efforts to make Delhi a model for compassionate governance. With these measures, the administration is not only addressing financial insecurities but also ensuring that senior citizens receive the respect and support they deserve.
Applications for the old-age pension scheme are being accepted online and at designated centers, ensuring a streamlined process for eligible citizens. The Delhi government’s proactive approach has drawn widespread appreciation and is likely to set a benchmark for other states.
This initiative further solidifies the AAP government’s position as a leader in implementing impactful social welfare policies.
