Mumbai: Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister-designate of Maharashtra, announced today that he is set to take oath as the Chief Minister. This follows a meeting with the Governor, during which a letter from Shiv Sena President and legislative party leader, Eknath Shinde, was submitted, endorsing Fadnavis for the top post.
Speaking about the developments, Fadnavis said, “Today, we met the Governor, and Eknath Shinde, as the Shiv Sena President and leader of the Shiv Sena legislative party, recommended my name for the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The Governor has invited us to form the government.”
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place tomorrow, December 5, at 5:30 PM, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to attend the event.
Fadnavis reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Maharashtra, stating, “This government will work to fulfill the promises we have made to the people of Maharashtra.”
