Bahawalpur, Pakistan – May 7, 2025:In a major blow to the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), a precision strike reportedly targeted its headquarters in Bahawalpur, resulting in the deaths of 14 individuals, including 10 family members of JeM chief Masood Azhar and 4 of his close associates.

The strike, which hit the Subhana Allah Jama Masjid—believed to be a key operational and strategic hub of JeM—left the building completely destroyed, as confirmed by satellite images and eyewitness accounts. The mosque compound has long been under surveillance due to its association with JeM’s top leadership and its use as a base for radical training and planning.
Sources suggest that the strike was carried out with specific intelligence pointing to the presence of high-value targets. The exact origin of the attack remains officially unconfirmed, though speculation points to the possibility of a cross-border or drone-based operation.
Masood Azhar, the founder of JeM and a UN-designated global terrorist, is known for orchestrating numerous terror attacks, including the 2019 Pulwama attack in India that killed 40 CRPF personnel. His whereabouts at the time of the attack remain unknown, and there is no confirmation yet on whether he was injured or present at the compound.
Security analysts believe this strike could significantly impact the operational capabilities of JeM, a group already under international pressure for its involvement in various terror plots. The loss of Azhar’s close relatives and inner circle may also demoralize the organization and disrupt its internal command structure.
There has been no official statement from the Pakistani government or military regarding the incident, though local authorities have reportedly cordoned off the area and restricted access.
The incident is likely to trigger strong geopolitical reactions, particularly from countries that have long called for stricter action against terror groups operating from Pakistani soil.
