In a recent interview, Mrunal Thakur discussed relationships and referenced actress Mona Singh’s choice to freeze her eggs. Mrunal Thakur also addressed the illusion of perfection that is often portrayed on social media. She recently shared an unfiltered photo of herself crying on Instagram Stories, sparking an honest discussion.
During this time, she talked about her struggles with days where even getting out of bed felt like an overwhelming effort. Additionally, she courageously tackled the topic of body shaming and pledged to challenge existing beauty standards.
In her conversation with Humans of Bombay, Mrunal spoke about the facade of perfect lives that many people maintain online.
“There were days I didn’t even want to wake up or get out of bed, but I pushed myself. I did it for me. You might feel down for a day, a week, or even months, and the truth is, no one really cares except your family. It’s vital to remind ourselves that bad days pass and good days will come. That’s the reality, and it’s perfectly normal to feel off,” she explained.
Mrunal also advocated for body positivity and revealed she had faced criticism about her ‘pear-shaped body.’ She declared, “I’m ready to challenge those beauty standards by embracing my curves. I used to fear wearing tight clothes, but now I say, ‘Body-hugging? Bring it on. Crop tops? Bring it on.’ Why should the Kardashians set beauty standards? Every Indian woman, with their natural curves, is beautiful.”
Regarding relationships, she added, “I know relationships can be challenging, but that’s why it’s important to have a partner who understands the nature of your job. As for freezing eggs, it’s something I’m considering too.”
