The Prime Minister criticized the opposition INDIA coalition for their goal of seeking commissions once in power, contrasting it with the BJP-led NDA’s dedicated mission. Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that the Congress party’s manifesto is reminiscent of the Muslim League’s ideology around the time of independence, describing it as significantly influenced by the Muslim League and also heavily leaning towards leftist ideology. He dismissed the party’s election document as a collection of falsehoods.
Speaking at an electoral event in Saharanpur, Modi elaborated on the Congress manifesto, stating, “The manifesto released by Congress on Friday mirrors the mindset of the Muslim League during the independence era, with a significant portion marked by the Muslim League’s influence, while the rest is heavily leftist.”
Modi continued, emphasizing that the INDIA coalition’s primary objective is to secure commissions upon gaining power, in contrast to the mission-driven approach of the NDA and his government. He pointed out that the opposition’s campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections is merely an attempt to prevent the BJP from securing more than 370 seats.
Modi critiqued the previous Congress administration for prioritizing commissions and mocked the INDIA alliance for harboring similar intentions upon assuming power. He also commented on the opposition’s challenges in nominating candidates, stating, “The opposition’s struggle is purely to limit the BJP’s seat count beyond 370. The Samajwadi Party is frequently changing its candidates, while Congress struggles to nominate candidates, even in its strongholds.”
Moreover, Modi criticized the Congress manifesto for its Muslim League influence and leftist dominance once again. He remarked on the INDIA coalition’s association with instability and uncertainty, noting that the country’s populace is largely dismissive of them. Modi lamented the opposition’s stance against ‘shakti’, which he described as a fundamental aspect of the country’s spiritual heritage, highlighting the unfortunate perspective of the INDIA alliance towards this concept.
In the lead-up to the parliamentary elections, he noted that eight constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, including Saharanpur, Kairana, and others, are set to vote in the first phase on April 19, with the vote count scheduled for June 4. Additionally, Modi supported BJP candidate Atul Garg during a roadshow in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
