Yamunanagar, Haryana – April 15, 2025:
In a heartfelt and emotional moment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met one of his most devoted admirers, Rampal Kashyap, during his recent visit to Yamunanagar, Haryana. What made the meeting special was a unique 14-year vow made by Kashyap: he had pledged to remain barefoot until Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of India.
Rampal Kashyap, a resident of Yamunanagar, had kept his promise with unwavering dedication. For over a decade, he went without wearing any footwear, waiting for the day Modi would rise to the highest office in the country. That day came in 2014, but despite Modi becoming PM, Kashyap waited years more to meet him in person and receive his blessings before breaking his vow.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi was visibly touched by Kashyap’s devotion and determination. As a symbolic gesture and token of appreciation, Modi personally gifted him a pair of shoes, helping him put an end to his long-standing vow.
Taking to social media later, PM Modi acknowledged the emotional meeting, saying, “Met Rampal Kashyap ji from Yamunanagar today. His story and devotion moved me deeply. I was honoured to present him with shoes after his 14-year-long pledge. Such dedication is humbling.”
The incident has gone viral on social platforms, with many praising the deep emotional connection between leaders and their supporters. For Rampal Kashyap, the meeting marked not just the end of a vow, but the fulfillment of a dream that had shaped over a decade of his life.
