PM Narendra Modi Highlights Major Infrastructure and Development Projects in Maharashtra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a recent address, announced a series of transformative initiatives for the state of Maharashtra, emphasizing the state’s role in India’s broader developmental goals. “Today, Maharashtra is getting the gift of 10 new medical colleges,” PM Modi stated, underscoring his government’s commitment to expanding healthcare and education infrastructure.

In addition to the medical colleges, PM Modi laid the foundation stones for the upgradation of two major airports in the state: the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur and the new integrated terminal building at Shirdi airport. He highlighted the importance of improving connectivity and infrastructure, stating, “Metro is being expanded and airports are being upgraded in Maharashtra,” which will further boost the state’s economic growth and ease of living for its citizens.

The Prime Minister also announced new projects related to infrastructure, solar energy, and textiles, sectors crucial to Maharashtra’s economic diversification. Among the most notable announcements was the laying of the foundation stone for Vadhavan Port, which is set to become the largest container port in India. According to PM Modi, “Never before has Maharashtra witnessed development on such a large scale.”

In his speech, PM Modi criticized the previous Congress government, accusing it of widespread corruption, particularly in sectors where development had stalled under its rule. He contrasted this with his administration’s focus on transparent governance and rapid progress across various sectors.

One of the significant cultural announcements made during his address was the central government’s recognition of Marathi as a classical language, a long-standing demand of the people of Maharashtra. “Marathi language has been given classical language status by the central government,” PM Modi said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting regional languages and heritage.

These projects, the Prime Minister noted, will help Maharashtra consolidate its position as a key player in India’s growth story, while also addressing the state’s specific needs in terms of infrastructure, employment, and cultural preservation.
