2 March, 2025; Jaipur, Rajasthan – A political controversy has erupted in Rajasthan as Leader of Opposition (LoP) Tikaram Jully has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of targeting Minister Kirodi Lal Meena.
Speaking on the matter, Jully alleged that the BJP government has been consistently putting pressure on Meena by dividing his department, tapping his phone calls, and closely monitoring his activities. He further claimed that the latest action—the cancellation of Meena’s bungalow allotment—was an attempt to intimidate and threaten him.
“They (BJP) are continuously accusing Kirodi Meena. His department has been divided into two parts… They are constantly spying on him. His phones are being tapped. Today, his bungalow allotment has been cancelled… In a way, they are trying to scare and threaten him,” said Jully.
The allegations have added to the growing political friction within the Rajasthan government. Kirodi Lal Meena, a prominent leader and minister in the state, has not yet responded to the claims. However, the accusations suggest deepening rifts within the BJP-led administration.
Political analysts believe that the internal discord within the BJP in Rajasthan could have significant implications for the state’s political landscape. Opposition leaders have called for transparency and fairness in governance, urging the state government to address concerns regarding political vendettas.
