In the wake of the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, political strategist and Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor expressed strong condemnation of the incident and extended full support to the central government.
Addressing media in Jamui, Bihar, Kishor emphasized that issues related to national security and foreign policy are the exclusive responsibility of the central government. He said,
“Some things are the matter of the central government; the country’s foreign policy, security, is the matter of the central government.”
He stressed that in times of national crisis, unity transcends political lines.
“The people of the country, people of every section, the opposition are with the government.”
Kishor also made an appeal to the broader public sentiment, urging citizens to stand united.
“Every citizen of the country who loves the country, condemns this incident and will stand by the government’s decision.”
The attack in Pahalgam, reportedly carried out by suspected militants, has reignited discussions on the security situation in the Kashmir Valley. While political criticism and debate are common, Kishor’s remarks reflect a rare moment of consensus—a call for solidarity over division, emphasizing national interest above political differences.
The Jan Suraaj movement, founded by Prashant Kishor, has been primarily focused on grassroots development and political reform in Bihar. However, his comments today suggest a growing involvement in national discourse, especially on issues of security and sovereignty.
