Railways Ministry Refutes Allegations of Mismanagement and Overcrowding; Urges Public Not to Circulate ‘Misleading’ Videos

The Indian Railways Ministry has rejected claims of mismanagement and overcrowding in its air-conditioned (AC) coaches, presenting videos as evidence to support their position. They have urged the public to avoid tarnishing the organization’s reputation by circulating “old misleading videos.”

According to sources within the Railways, there is an ongoing social media campaign aimed at damaging the reputation of the national carrier. It has been noted that some individuals are sharing outdated or incorrect videos to depict mismanagement in AC coaches.

After thorough investigations, the Railways found no evidence supporting these claims of mismanagement. The Ministry is addressing these allegations on a case-by-case basis and advising the public not to be swayed by these rumors.

In response to a user’s allegation of overcrowding in a 2nd AC coach, the Ministry shared a current video showing the condition inside the coach, clearly showing no overcrowding and requested the public not to damage the image of Indian Railways by spreading misleading information.

In another response concerning claims of poor service and treatment by Indian Railways, the Ministry clarified that the videos cited are outdated. They added, “It is hereby informed that the videos shared in this post are old. View the current condition of the train mentioned. Indian Railways is operating a record number of additional trains this season to accommodate passengers.”

Addressing a specific claim about a broken door glass in the 3AC coach of the Kaifiyat Express, the Ministry shared a video from their internal investigation, confirming that no such incident had occurred. They stated, “Based on the internal investigation, no such incident involving breaking of glass was reported. Please refrain from sharing old misleading videos.”

Clarifications continue to be issued as needed, and the public is advised to not believe or propagate unfounded rumors, sources noted.
