Tejashwi Yadav Accuses BJP of Spreading Hatred and Violence in Wake of Sambhal Stone-Pelting Incident

25 November, 2024; Patna: Reacting to the recent stone-pelting incident in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of fomenting unrest and spreading hatred across the country.

In a fiery statement, Yadav said, “The way BJP people are creating ruckus in UP, they want to create an atmosphere of violence in the country, spread hatred. The way the government is misusing the police, turning them into goons, is very unfortunate.”

The incident in Sambhal, which has drawn widespread condemnation, has become a flashpoint for opposition leaders to target the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government. Allegations of excessive force and partisanship by the police have further intensified the criticism.

Yadav emphasized the need for unity against what he described as the BJP’s divisive agenda. He declared, “BJP is not only spreading hatred, these people want to break the country by any means. That is why all of us are united. We know their design of hatred.” He also warned that such attempts would not be tolerated in Bihar, stating, “If anyone makes such an attempt in Bihar, then we will not sit quietly.”

This comes amid increasing political tension as the opposition gears up for the upcoming elections. The INDIA bloc, of which RJD is a part, has been vocal in criticizing the BJP for alleged communal polarization and misuse of administrative machinery.

Tejashwi Yadav’s remarks reflect the growing determination of opposition leaders to counter the BJP’s narrative, particularly in states like Bihar, where the Mahagathbandhan government has positioned itself as a strong opponent of the saffron party.

As the country edges closer to the 2024 General Elections, such incidents are expected to further deepen political divides, with both the ruling party and the opposition sharpening their attacks.
