‘Telangana CM Casts Doubt on Surgical Strike; BJP Accuses Him of Exonerating Pakistan’

MAY 11;In response to comments made by Revanth Reddy, BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar questioned why the Telangana Chief Minister appeared to exonerate Pakistan regarding the Pulwama attack and the subsequent surgical strike. Revanth Reddy has expressed skepticism about the Indian Air Force’s surgical strikes in Balakot, Pakistan following the February 2019 Pulwama attack, stating that it remains uncertain whether such an event even occurred.

Reddy also criticized the Intelligence Bureau (IB) for its inability to prevent the Pulwama attack, which resulted in the death of over 40 CRPF personnel. This critique follows similar statements from other Congress leaders regarding the incident.

Reddy articulated concerns about Prime Minister Modi’s motivations, suggesting that Modi prioritizes political gain over national interest. “For Modi, it’s all about politics and election victories. His approach is detrimental to the country. It’s time for India to move beyond the BJP and Modi. They respond to every issue with ‘Jai Sri Ram’. The Pulwama tragedy exemplifies their failures. What has the Intelligence network accomplished? Modi sought to politically capitalize on the surgical strikes post-Pulwama,” stated Reddy.

He challenged the current administration’s handling of internal security: “Why did the Pulwama attack occur? What measures are being taken to prevent such failures? Why weren’t intelligence agencies like the IB and R&AW effectively utilized? This is your failure… To this day, the reality of the surgical strike remains unclear. Thus, handling of internal security should be the responsibility of the Congress. We cannot entrust the nation’s security to just anyone,” Reddy added.
