Ramban, J&K: As the counting day for the assembly elections approaches, authorities in Ramban have implemented robust security measures to ensure a smooth and peaceful process. In a recent statement, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, Kulbir Singh, emphasized that security around the counting centres will be stringent, with a comprehensive three-tier system in place.
“Usually, there is a three-tier security on counting centres. It would be foolproof,” SSP Singh assured, highlighting the high level of preparedness in securing these vital locations. The authorities are not only focused on the counting centres but have also made special deployments in sensitive areas across the district, particularly in urban towns where tensions could flare up.
“We have also made proper deployments in the sensitive areas in the towns,” Singh noted, indicating a preemptive approach to areas prone to unrest. The security forces have meticulously planned to manage crowds and celebrations, especially in places where jubilant supporters of candidates are expected to gather after the results are declared.
Special arrangements have been made in these areas to ensure that celebrations are carried out peacefully. SSP Singh also issued a strong appeal to the public, urging them to celebrate in a responsible manner. “We have made special arrangements for the places where there might be celebrations… We request that people celebrate in a manner that does not hurt others’ feelings,” he said, warning that any act that disturbs public peace or causes harm to others could lead to legal action.
The district administration and law enforcement agencies are working in close coordination to avoid any potential disruption. With heightened security, including a robust presence of forces and surveillance, the aim is to ensure that the counting process is completed without any incidents.
The people of Ramban, along with the rest of Jammu & Kashmir, eagerly await the results of this crucial election, while security forces remain vigilant to prevent any untoward situation.
