Jalgaon, Maharashtra — In a spirited rally held in Chalisgaon, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed supporters, expressing confidence in the BJP’s prospects in Maharashtra’s upcoming elections. Shah, who is visiting North Maharashtra for the second time, assured the crowd that the Mahayuti (BJP and allied parties) is set to secure a decisive win and form the next government in the state.
“The result of this election is going to be that on November 23, the Aghadi will be wiped out, and the Mahayuti will form the government,” Shah proclaimed, referencing the alliance of Shiv Sena (UBT), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Congress known as the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Shah’s comments underscored his confidence that the electorate will shift decisively in favor of the BJP-led coalition.
In his speech, Shah pointed to recent political developments across India, particularly in Haryana and Jharkhand. He reminded the crowd that the BJP successfully formed the government in Haryana, and with polling underway in Jharkhand, he expressed optimism about BJP’s chances there as well. “The BJP will form a government in Jharkhand, and Mahayuti will form a government in Maharashtra,” Shah asserted, linking these developments as part of a broader national support for the BJP.
Amit Shah did not shy away from attacking the Congress party and its leadership. He accused Congress leaders of spreading misinformation and relying on “politics based on lies” to sway the public. Targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi directly, Shah cast doubt on Gandhi’s knowledge of the Indian Constitution. Referring to a recent incident, Shah mocked Gandhi for holding up a blank copy of the Constitution during a rally in Maharashtra. “Rahul Baba was waving the Constitution in Maharashtra… but when the copy of the Constitution was opened, the pages were blank,” he said, adding, “I doubt if he has even read the Constitution.”
Shah’s rally at Chalisgaon was marked by enthusiastic responses from supporters, who echoed his hopes for a Mahayuti victory in Maharashtra. As the November 23 elections approach, BJP leaders are intensifying their efforts to mobilize supporters across the state, casting the Mahayuti as a more reliable and effective alternative to the Aghadi.
With Shah’s direct criticism of the opposition and his vocal confidence in the BJP’s chances, the stage is set for a fiercely contested election in Maharashtra, where issues of governance, development, and leadership will play out in voters’ decisions.
