Union Home Minister’s Visit to Boost Dairy Sector in Madhya Pradesh: CM Mohan Yadav

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh — Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday highlighted the state’s ambitious plans to transform its dairy and agricultural sectors, calling the upcoming visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah a significant milestone for milk producers across the state.

Speaking to the media, CM Yadav emphasized that Madhya Pradesh currently ranks third in milk production nationwide, but the government is committed to elevating the state to the top position. “Today, the Union Home Minister is coming to Madhya Pradesh. This visit will prove to be a boon for all milk-producing sectors,” he stated.

The Chief Minister elaborated on several key initiatives, including the Kam Dhenu Scheme, launched in the name of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, which aims to promote cattle rearing and dairy entrepreneurship. “This year, we have allocated over ₹2,500 crore to develop and support multiple Gau Shalas (cow shelters) across the state,” he said.

In a bid to encourage larger-scale dairy operations, the government has introduced a subsidy program offering 25% financial support for those raising more than 25 cows, providing a significant boost to local dairy farmers and entrepreneurs.

“Our commitment is not just to agriculture, but also to the prosperity of our women, farmers, and youth,” said CM Yadav. He also pointed to advancements in irrigation and infrastructure, which are driving steady growth in both farming and dairy sectors. “We envision a future where Madhya Pradesh’s dairy products, like those of Amul, reach global markets,” he added.

In tandem with agricultural development, the Chief Minister highlighted the state’s ongoing efforts under the Jal Ganga Conservation Mission. The mission, aimed at preserving and rejuvenating water bodies, has now been extended to every district, tehsil, and village. “This includes the restoration and cleanliness of wells, ponds, and rivers. These efforts are being closely monitored to ensure effective implementation,” he noted.

As Madhya Pradesh continues to expand its dairy and agricultural infrastructure, CM Yadav expressed confidence that the state is well on its way to becoming a national leader in sustainable rural development.
