UNSC Members Reject Pakistan’s ‘False Flag’ Narrative, Raise Tough Questions on Terror Links

New York, May 6: In a significant diplomatic setback for Islamabad, members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) strongly rejected Pakistan’s “false flag” narrative during an informal closed-door session on Kashmir. According to reliable sources, Pakistan faced pointed questions from multiple UNSC members, who not only dismissed its claims but also questioned the possible involvement of terror groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

The session, held behind closed doors, was convened following the recent terror attack in Kashmir. While Pakistan attempted to portray the incident as a staged or “false flag” operation by India, this narrative failed to gain any traction among the council members. Instead, there was widespread condemnation of the attack, with members unanimously recognizing the need for accountability and justice.

Crucially, several members raised concerns about the targeting of tourists based on their religious identity, an aspect that drew international outrage. Questions were also raised about Pakistan’s history of sheltering terror groups and its repeated failure to curb cross-border terrorism.

Adding to Pakistan’s diplomatic woes, its recent missile tests and aggressive nuclear posturing were called out as destabilizing acts. Members cautioned that such rhetoric only adds to regional tensions and could risk escalating the situation unnecessarily.

Moreover, Pakistan’s attempt to internationalise the Kashmir issue once again fell flat. The UNSC members firmly advised Islamabad to resolve matters bilaterally with India, reaffirming the long-standing global position that Kashmir is a bilateral issue between the two nations.

This development marks yet another instance where the international community has held Pakistan accountable for its role in fostering terrorism and undermining regional stability. The strong response from the UNSC reinforces India’s stance and isolates Pakistan diplomatically on the global stage.
